That Epic Victoria Quarter Rant

You can tell right away a ton of work went into those posts. And into showing the local councillors around, and reporting issues. A petition. Maximum respect for putting in that effort.

The Cook Street upgrade proposal, was this you, David? Hey council, where is it?

For a moment this was looking like one of these uplifting and inspiring storeys. This is such an easy and cheap way to make life better for 10’s of thousands of people.

And a couple of things did happen, eg. Sale Street got a bit slower, and on Nelson Street the good folks from Grey Lynn can now cycle to the waterfront relatively safely.

But by and large the council, and with it AT, basically shrugged and moved on. What a disappointing response. Hand in your C40 membership card already.
